Course Overview
This course is the first course in CLP curriculum developed for SUSE Enterprise Server 10. It guides students who never touched Linux before through the main concepts of open source software and Linux using the SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10. The course is designed for students who have limited to no knowledge of the Linux operating system. They will learn the concepts of open source and Linux as well as fundamental knowledge to administer SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10. These fundamental tasks are prerequisites to attend course SUSE Linux Administration (3072) and all other classes on SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10. These tasks are also essential and prerequisite to learning the skills of an entry level Linux administrator or help desk technician in an enterprise environment.
Audience
While the primary audience for this course is administrators who are interested in Linux, certification candidates with experience in other operating systems can also use this course to begin preparing for the Novell CLP 10 Practicum.
Prerequisites
This course is designed for beginners with the Linux operating system. Attendees are only required to have basic computer skills on any operating system. Knowledge of a desktop operating system is sufficient.
