COURSE OVERVIEW
The Upgrading to NetWare 6.5 course (Course 3018) is designed to provide hands-on experience using NetWare 6.5 features that illustrate how NetWare 6.5 lowers an enterprise’s total cost of ownership (TCO), elevates administrator and end-user productivity, and enhances business productivity.
Attendees will
• Identify the new features of NetWare 6.5
• Upgrade a NetWare 5.1 server to NetWare 6.5
• Install a new NetWare 6.5 server into an existing eDirectory tree
• Deploy Business Continuity Services
• Deploy End-User Productivity Services
As part of the classroom instruction, students will work with multiple lab exercises to help them practically apply
course concepts and reinforce their proficiency with migration and installation utilities in NetWare 6.5 as well as the administrator, end-user, and developer services in NetWare 6.5. The learning objectives included in this course will be used to derive a certification test for the Certified Novell Engineer (CNE) on NetWare 6.5.
PREREQUISITES
Attendees and self-study customers of Course 3018, Upgrading to NetWare 6.5 must meet the following prerequisite criteria:
• Knowledge/experience with NetWare 5.x and/or NetWare 6.0
• Knowledge/experience integrating NetWare and eDirectory with other operating systems
• Knowledge/experience deploying web servers, especially Apache web server
AUDIENCE
This course is the “upgrade” course for the NetWare Certified Novell Engineer (CNE) curriculum. The intended audience for this course includes Novell customers who 1) have administration experience with NetWare 5.x, and/or NetWare 6.0; 2) meet the prerequisites for this course, and/or; 3) have intentions to achieve Novell’s Certified Novell Engineer (CNE) certification.

CERTIFICATION INFORMATION
This course prepares NetWare 5 CNEs to obtain the NetWare 6 CNE credential.
